Travis Vugteveen
DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
Travis has a solid genetic predisposition toward the construction industry coming from a family of masons including cousins, uncles, and his father. It was his father, however, who cemented his career by arranging an introduction to a respected architect while Travis was working as a brick tender during a summer break from college.
He went on to earn both a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Architecture and with more than 20 years in architecture, he still feels that the clay is not dry; his skills continue to be shaped by experience.
Travis believes that the best architects do not impose their design sensibility on a client. They are gifted with the ability to listen to their client’s wishes and turn that into a pleasing composition. He and Ryan had worked together previously and knew they would someday join forces.
Travis brings left-brain thinking to 42° North Architecture and 14 years of serving on township boards developed the insight to see things from both sides of the table: the best design coupled with the reality of how the municipal rules can work to maximize the potential of a project.
Travis is excited about the challenges each day brings and will function to smooth the path from design to construction documents taking projects to the finish line with no surprises.
